Raised as a single child, I was very quiet. Following in the footsteps of my Mother in some sense, she has always been known to be the quiet type. I was never really taught to “Speak my mind”, I didn’t understand the value of my voice and being heard. To me it was disrespectful to speak out of line and or to enforce your opinion without being asked. So needless to say I kept a lot bottled in…Not Healthy!
Still struggling to break the barriers from my childhood I realized as an adult that closed mouths don’t get fed. In this world you have to speak up for yourself and have a voice, if not you will get swallowed up in the whirlwind of life…And that I did!
Sometimes I have to remind myself, “Bee, you do have a voice, you’re entitled to your opinion, no one knows unless you say something!” As hard as that has been for me I will admit I’m getting better lol I’ve learned that I have to give myself permission to be great. I can’t wait on the approval of others like I used to do. I remember feeling unsure about my self-confidence as if hearing it from someone else made me better smh little did I know I was my only set back.
So today, I challenge you to give yourself permission to be awesome! Show the world that you are more than just your looks and allow them to hear your VOICE! Tap into your self-confidence!
You have permission to be GREAT! –BiancaLynnette
