“My Life is in YOUR hands”

sad womanGood Afternoon, I hope all is well with everyone! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted and I pray that the spirit moves and that you are blessed by this post…
So I’ve been having some minor issues at work. Not too stressful, yet stressful. We have a new employee and I feel that this person is trying to “push me out”. Now initially I was in denial about the whole thing considering I have a very unique position. Then it began to feel like I was being micromanaged and sized up in every way; pretty much pushing me out of my secured comfort zone. I started to stress, started thinking about back up plans just in case this person did get my job. I started to take my work home mentally, not having enough of me to give to my family because I was always so worried about what this person had over me, each advantage personally and professionally. I even started making a fool out of myself because I would place myself in every hypothetical situation mentioned at meetings and group gatherings. If someone mentioned a mistake, Oh are you talking about me? Another may have made mention about how great of an employee this new person is, and right away I got offended thinking that the comment took away from my value.

One day at work the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind; I didn’t read it at work, I waited until I got home so that it could minister to me. When I got a moment of quite time at home, I pulled out my Bible and read it. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Wow! I mean just wow! That scripture brought me back to a place where I was forced to remember that this is God’s plan, not mine. Even if this person did take the position I had, that only proved that it was only mine for that time, and I have to TRUST that he has already prepared the next place for me, and me alone. I had allowed myself to be conformed by the things of the World. In Romans 12:2 it clearly states, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. By praying to hold onto that job and or that position, I could have been blocking a bigger, broader position God had planned out for me. My season may have been over and I could have been interfering with someone else’s blessing trying to hold onto what once was mine. That’s like a child, not knowing that his or her parents have already went out and brought them a brand new shiny red car fully paid, and they insist on getting a 12 speed bike. They pray and press for that bike thinking they just have to have that bike because that’s all they know and that’s the best bike out. Not even knowing they could have had a brand new car. See that’s the thing about God, if you ask him for something you have to believe he’s going to do it and move when he says move. How can he bless you if you’re stuck in your last season??….-Bianca Lynnette
